Week 3 Theme: Close-Up

This week the theme is close-up shots. They can be of any type of thing that you want just make sure it's a close-up picture. This would be a good week to play with angles. It's neat to see a close up of an everyday item that gives you a different perspective of the object. Next week (probably Wednesday-ish) I want to post a few topics and have you ladies vote for Week 4's theme. I don't want to be the only one running the show here because this is a group project. Keep your eyes peeled so you can help choose what we shoot after this week!

Have a great week. <3

Guidelines & Week 1: Official Theme

Guidelines for our 365 Project:

  1. Can I post photos that are not taken on the posting date? No. :) The point of this project for our group is to force ourselves to take time out from our day to focus on this project. Maybe this can serve as some kind of mental relaxation as we can forget about our day and focus on art. :)
  2. Do I need to strictly use my cell phone to take and submit photos? Nope! You can take photos with anything you would like to.... camera phone, point and shoot or a fancy digital SLR.
  3. Is it ok to use apps or apply effects to my photos? Sure! The point of this is to get creative with a subject that might ultimately be very simple.

Week 1:

Architecture (Latin architectura, from the Greek ἀρχιτέκτων – arkhitekton, from ἀρχι- "chief" and τέκτων "builder, carpenter") can mean:

  • The art and science of designing and erecting buildings and other physical structures.
(Taken from Wikipedia-click here for more definitions)

Don't spend too much time wondering if your photo idea is fitted enough to the exact definition of architecture. We aren't here to judge your photo but instead to see what your interpretation of the word means.

For ideas of what other 365 groups posted click here. Have fun!!

Please post any extra questions in the comments and we will address them as needed.

How to set up your e-mail address so you can e-mail photos from your phone:

1. Log in to your eblogger and fine the area that looks like the photo below. Click on the settings for "A Snap in Time" blog.

2. Once in the settings screen find the email posting section and fill in the blank with a word to complete your personal e-mail address. Make sure to save it exactly as you see it on the screen in your phone so that you can use it when you are ready to e-mail your photo. You can include any information you'd like with the photo or just the photo alone.

I'm ready to start this!

I'm totally looking forward to Sunday so we can start this fun project! I'm really excited to see what you ladies come up with each day. We all take so many photos anyway but it will be fun to have a little daily assignment. One of the things I loved most about taking photography in college was the weekly assignments because it really made you experiment and think outside of the box with what I photographed. Looking back I didn't really learn much about HOW to take photos but more about WHAT to take photos of. I'm also excited because when school starts and I'm back to working Mon-Fri again it's easy for me to let photography take the backseat and I don't want that to be the case.
